And finally, at the last, you will get the Proven Benefits of Coconut Oil Foot Massage.

Let’s see…

Types of Coconut Oil (Which One You Should Use)

Benefits of Coconut Oil Foot Massage

There are several types of coconut oil available in the market. The coconut oil jar is labeled with terms like organic, natural, virgin, extra-virgin, cold-pressed, and lots more. And these terms made me a little bit confused when I decided to buy coconut oil for my health purposes.

Then I started to learn about coconut oil. Today I will give you a short brief of what I have learned about the types of coconut oil. Let’s see.

Organic Vs Non-organic Coconut Oil

Organic means growing plants without using any kind of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Only organic fertilizers and biopesticides are used to deliver nutrients to the plants and protect them from pests.

So, organic coconut oil means it is produced without any touch of harmful chemical fertilizers or pesticides. But, you should buy USDA Organics Certified coconut oil to get the highest benefits of organic coconut oil.

Refined Vs Unrefined Coconut Oil

This section is very important. Before buying, you should consider whether coconut oil is refined or unrefined. It helps you to decide in which purpose you should use coconut oil.

The refined coconut oil goes through more processing while production than unrefined coconut oil. The processing includes bleaching, high heat treating, and chemical processing for sometimes. And sodium hydroxide is used to increase the coconut oil shelf life. Sometimes it also goes through the hydrogenation process which produces trans-fat.

This refining process reduces the coconut flavor from the oil. It also cuts down some beneficial properties from coconut oil. But the refined coconut oil has a high smoke point (450oC) than unrefined coconut oil. This high smoke point and less odor make refined coconut oil is a good choice for cooking.

On the other hand, unrefined or raw coconut oil is less processed coconut oil. It doesn’t pass through any kind of high heat and chemical processing. It contains the actual scent and benefits of coconut oil. Unrefined or raw coconut oil is good for health, skin, and hair.

My Opinion

I think, knowing this is enough to decide which coconut oil you should buy or not for skincare. Knowing some other terms such as “centrifuge extracted” or “cold-pressed” is not necessary for this purpose.

If I need to buy coconut oil for a foot massage. I prefer organic coconut oil which is unrefined, unfiltered, and raw.

My favorite coconut oil is Extra Virgin Coconut Oil of Sky Organics Brand. It is packed carefully to give your skin nourishing and the safest care. You can rely on it with folded eyes.

Nutrient Content of Coconut Oil

About 99% of coconut oil is fat of which 82% is saturated fat. In 100 grams of coconut oil, lauric acid contains 41.8 grams, myristic acid contains 16.7 grams, palmitic acid contains 8.6 grams, and caprylic acid contains 6.8 grams. Source

Coconut oil is a rich source of energy. 100 gm coconut oil contains 890 calories. It also contains a trace amount of vitamin E, K, and iron. Coconut oil is high in phenolics which are natural anti-oxidants. Thus, it keeps you safe from environmental damages.
